Healthy Early years Training Strategy

The Healthy Early years Training Strategy (HEyTS) aims to address health and hygiene needs within the early childhood education and care sector. The training strategy includes innovative methodology and current best practice content that will enhance health and hygiene practices in the sector. Training materials align with key health resources, the CHC08 Training Package and the National Quality Standards and learning frameworks.

HEyTS currently consists of 24 topics in 6 health and hygiene content modules:
• Module 1 - Hygiene Practices
• Module 2 – Infection Control
• Module 3 – Health and Safety
• Module 4 – Healthy Eating and Physical Activity
• Module 5 – Social and Emotional Wellbeing
• Module 6 – Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion

HEyTS module content [PowerPoints] can be accessed by individuals and organisations through the Health and Hygiene Content for Educators TAB.

Registered Training Organisations (RTO) in Queensland are able to access the full suite of HEyTS training resources which include learning guides and trainer and assessor guides for each module as well as assessment guides for the Certificate III, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services. These resources are password protected and details of how Queensland RTOs can access these materials are found on the Queensland RTO access only TAB.
